Hello,

So I am usually quite good about fixing these issues by myself, but lately I have something on my computer that just won't go away. It started with one of those red 'security' alert icons in the taskpane which told me I was infected. This was one of those fake security alerts. I was able to get rid of the alerts, but ever since then I've had endless problems. My computer acts extremely sluggish now (keyboard stops working), random websites open (two have already since I started writing this), and I am unable to connect to Windows Update websites or other legitimate sites such as Linkedin. I've run multiple scans and programs: AVG, hijackthis, Anti-Malware, Ad-Aware, Spybot, Spyware Blaster, Super AntiSpyware, and all of the programs either return saying that everything is fine, or some new alert pops up which another program hadn't caught before. Most recently I've been told by AVG that I am infected with: Trojan SHeur3.AEME and Trojan Rootkit-Agent.EG. Malwarebytes has also told me that I have Trojan.Downloader, Trojan.Backdoor, Malware.Packer.Gen, Stolen.Data, Rogue.Installer, Backdoor.Bot and Malware.Trace.

I have a firewall installed, AVG is currently running (and working) and I am disconnecting this computer from the internet in between my posts on this forum to prevent any more damage. Below I have attached the required logs, however I have run GMER twice now (for over 3 hours at a time) and my computer spontaneously restarts when the log is being created. So I've attached as much as possible before the restart. Hopefully this is enough information. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Hello and Welcome to the forums!

My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.

Somethings to remember while we are working together.

  2. Please Do not Attach logs or put in code boxes.
  3. Tell me about any problems that have occurred during the fix.
  4. Tell me of any other symptoms you may be having as these can help also.
  5. Do not run anything while running a fix.

In the upper right hand corner of the topic you will see a button called Options. If you click on this in the drop-down menu you can choose Track this topic. By doing this and then choosing Immediate E-Mail notification and then clicking on Proceed you will be advised when we respond to your topic and facilitate the cleaning of your machine.

Hello

I Would like you to do the following.

Please print out or make a copy in notpad of any instructions given, as sometimes it is necessary to go offline and you will lose access to them.

Run Combofix:
Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode.
This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:
The Recovery Console was successfully installed.
    Please continue as follows:
    • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
    • Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the report in your next post:

    C:\ComboFix.txt

"information and logs"
In your next post I need the following
    1. Log from Combofix
    2. let me know of any problems you may have had
    3. How is the computer doing now?

Gringo

Hi Gringo,

So I tried to run the program and it came up telling me that AVG was detected to be running and that I was strongly advised to close it. I can't close this program though as I previously mentioned that AVG detected it's own tray icon as infected.. so now I can't run AVG to disable AVG, and I can't uninstall AVG as the program's uninstallation process gives me an error as well.

AVG still isn't showing in the taskpane (after restart), but so far a few websites seem to be working fine. It's hard to tell since the sites redirected at random times, but Windows Update is now working, so it's looking better!

Greetings

Good That cleaned up some bad guys but I see some other stuff that we need to go after, so I want you to run this custom script for me.

:Run CFScript:

Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the box into the window:

CODE
File::
c:\windows\Fonts\2k43fMt.com
c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\CufIXyT0.exe

RenV::
c:\program files\AVG\AVG8\avgtray .exe
c:\program files\COMODO\Firewall\cfp .exe

AtJob::

Save it to your desktop as CFScript.txt

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe

This will let ComboFix run again.
Restart if you have to.
Save the produced logfile to your desktop.

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

"information and logs"
In your next post I need the following
    1. report from Combofix
    2. let me know of any problems you may have had
    3. How is the computer doing now after running the script?

Gringo

Hi Gringo,

No problems running the script, however AVG is still gone and now windows security is giving me a (real) notification saying that my computer is not protected.

My mistake. It's telling me that I am protected and updates are disabled, but the tray icon for AVG and my firewall are still not showing.
