I've had this Gateway 504GR for around 6-7 years now, sometimes when I unplug it or the power gets turned off on it, the computer will boot up and the monitor will say "Power Saving Mode". This only happens once every 3-5 months, and it usually starts working again after a couple days of going into power saving mode. It's been a bit longer this time around though and I'm not sure what even causes this problem. I reinserted graphics card and RAM cards, tried to plugging/unplugging different stuff. Tried hooking the comp up to other monitors (same results), using a different VGA cable ...

I'm running low on options right now.

I have seen that when a computer seems to be turning on and nothing displays on the screen it could be a dying motherboard. Check to see if the lights flicker on the keyboard when booting up.

The computer seems to boot up fine, it even beeps like it's going into the Safe mode select screen when I'm hitting the keys. The monitor works as well though, having tested it on another comp. Testing the problem comp on this monitor, it didn't work.
