I'd like to know how to add sound to a gif, . . . (very simple animations)

What are the basics, for beginners ?

Do I need to go out and buy anything ?

I have a tape recorder with mic, . . I have Blank CD's, . I think they record sound ?

Is it possible for me to get this done, . like in the next couple hours ?
