I'm going to be doing a Windows reinstallation on a computer using an XP cd with SP2 on it. And I'll also update it to SP3, of course. I just have a quick question.

Do I install the three updates I see on the Windows Update site (Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1, Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool [KB892130], and Update for Windows XP [KB898461]) before or after installing SP3? Or are those updates already packed in with the service pack?

Wish I could tell you straight out, . .if they are at the Update sight you should be able to click onto these for more information, hopefully, you'll be directed to the info. you need.

I have a feeling that it is called Windows 3.1 because it has come along after SP3, but don't quote me on that.

HeeHaw5130  I would download S.P3 and checked for updates again. If they are still there download them. I would recommend defraging when done.
