Hi guys, this problem just started happening today. I turned my computer on and started playing Dead Space. 5 minutes into my gaming session, my monitor goes blank and says "No Signal" (as if my computer was turned off). I had my headphones on and could still hear the game sounds. After a few seconds, the game sounds started to stutter and didn't stop. I turned my monitor off using the power button, waited a few seconds and turned it back on and it still said the same thing. I had to turn my computer off manually using the power button after that since I couldn't do anything. I waited a minute and turned it back on. I then tried to play Bad Company 2 and the same thing happened.

I run EVGA precision to control my GPU fan speed and monitor the temp. While gaming, it's usually at about 60-70 degrees Celsius, so I don't think it's a temp problem.

I'm not very computer literate, so I really don't know what to do at this point... so, I'm turning to you guys for help. I hope someone out there is able to help me.

Check to see if your video card is getting enough air flow, when you are gaming your putting a lot of processing power into that RAMDAC and it will over heat and pop goes the video.

Solution: cool the case down and increase air flow.

What do you think the most effective way is to increase airflow to my video card?

Also, by what I told you in my previous post, do you think it could be something more serious than this? (I hope not).

Can you take a picture of your case with it open and post it here?

Your issue could also indicate a dying video card.

I think that your video card is dead I would also take the side panel off the computer and check to see if all the fans are running my word of advice is don't use a fan speed program They can do more harm then good.

I found that out on a old gateway from 2003 and I burned up the video card when messing with the fan speeds.

If you have any questions please reply back

The only thing I can make from your text in your opening post is your video card caused a fault, it is common when the processor over heats during acceleration. If your processor has already been damaged, there's not much you can do at this point to save it, but for longer life, you should make sure you have several fans blowing into the case and out in the back.

Most computer systems only have one fan on the processor and one exhaust in the power supply.

This is not enough, you should have at least one in the front area of the tower (two is better) blowing into the tower.

There should be two exhausting out in the back panel of the tower if the air vents are provided.

If this gives you any ideas, below is the list of cooling fans my tower has.

I have two fans in my tower's front panel, one of them blows air onto two hard drives.

I have one side fan blowing air towards the processor cooling fan and one side fan blowing air towards the North Bridge chip of my motherboard.

One on my North Bridge chip heat sink

One on my video card.

One on the CPU.

PSU has two fans one input and one exhaust out the back of tower.

Two fans exhausting out the back

That's 11 fans total spinning in my high-tower!

The highest temp I ever seen in my case was the actual room temp its self.
