Hi all

I have the google redirect problem, on XP Home SP3. (It gets weirder; since this started I also have a runaway HelpAssistant account, but let's deal with one thing at a time). When I got the redirect problem I was running an out-of-date Norton Antivirus, so I uninstalled it and installed Panda. Panda didn't see any problems. So I also tried Avast, which didn't find any problems.

I downloaded gooredfix and it fixed the problem on Firefox (but not IE); then Firefox started crashing whenever I started it, so I re-installed Firefox (3.6) and got the redirect again.

I have a hosts file which makes it so I can't see any of the weird sites it's redirecting to, but I still want to cleanse my pc.

So ... what can I try next? Any advice would be most welcome.

EDIT: Moved from XP to Am I Infected forum ~ Hamluis.
