I don't know if this is the right section so if not tell me and I will post there or if its possible to move this thread. Thanks

I have a Acer Aspire 5735Z vista that wont stay connected to my internet. I had a Compaq laptop Windows XP just last week and stayed connected to the internet fine no trouble never diconnected. This acer is disconnecting from the internet every TEN MINUTES. I did some research on my own but literally found nothing that could help me specifically. What i did find out is that my IPv4 address changes every ten minutes. The only thing that changes about the address is the last number.
For Example: 192.168.1.159 then it would change to. 192.168.1.158 and so on.
ALSO!
I found that my DNS Adress Changes every 5 minutes. Sometimes it will have two DNS Servers a Primary and a Secondary which i think is normal. Is it not? Then other times it will have only ONE DNS Server and whats funny about it is that when i type in the DNS server thats a stand alone into the web browser as if im trying to access my router it takes me my Vonage Phone Company.

MORE INFO
I have a Linksys Router WRT54G V6 Firmware V1.02.8 (Is that the latest?) I also have my Xbox connected to my laptop with a ethernet cord to get my xbox live through bridge connection and i have opened up two ports for this. This isnt about my xbox i could care less about the xbox live connection.

So what i need is a solution to help me keep connected to the internet on my Laptop for more than 10 minutes. Again this started happening to me when i got a new vista laptop.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH MY PROBLEMS?
Please and Thanks smile.gif
