I just recently installed win7 but some of my software do not update to the latest version. One day, I suddenly found out that some of software (even including some updated software) appears some messy codes in its interface. Still, I can use them but some description has turn into "?" and I do not know why.

Please do help me !

Maybe your computer is affected by virus. Try to scan your PC by an antivirus software. If I meet the problem as you do, I will do like this. I don't know other ways to solve your problem.
Hope it's useful for you!

lol well perhaps microsoft plays a mean lil joke on <1% of its users? haha

what controls the description of a program, would it be a .dll? or .sys? or .ini? maybe we can figure it out by working backwards
