Hi I'm a newbie
I have been having a real problem with my computer lately. I just had it into the shop for a hardware diagnostic, they said everything was ok. I bought a program called Macrium Reflect to create a rescue CD as well as back up my hard drive with an image to my external hard drive. The problem is I can't get one to verify the image. I've been weeks working with their techs on solving the problem. I ran a checksum with ExactFile and out of 92385 files only 92199 hashed. I think something is either missing or corrupt in my Vista program. I've uninstalled everything but my AntiVirus programs. I have a dial-up connection and it takes forever to update if I have to uninstall and reinstall that later.

I have a CD for Vista Home Premium and I also have a CD with SP1, Microsoft sent them to me because I had a problem with corrupt files once before and they couldn't help on line. I'm running SP2. Can I just use the basic CD (without any service packs) to do a repair or do I have to download the stand alone version of SP2??? Will I have to update my Vista updates all over again??
