Hello there!

A few days ago my AVG anti-virus started warning me about an infection found in ftdisk.sys. Under "infection" AVG says that the name of the virus is 'Win32/Patched.DX'. However, Microsoft Malware Removal Tool said it was an alureon.h virus.

My OS is Windows XP Home

None of the programs could remove the threat, and I'm guessing I can't just remove the infected file if it is white-listed. I could use some help on removing this virus.

Thanks in advance

Edit: Moved topic from XP to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal
