can someone post step by step method with screen shots to format c: drive by using boot able cd for win xp pro.

The link posted above...is for installing the Recovery Console, not for installing XP.

If you have a CD containing the Windows install files...it's already bootable.

Just put it in the optical drive...change your BIOS boot options so that the system will boot from the CD first, save the changes made to the BIOS.

Saving the changes causes the system to reboot.

Follow onscreen directions to hit any key...to boot from CD.

CD will format/create partition/install XP.
