Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for some advice on using Spyware and Antivirus scanners (MBAM, Norton, etc).

Given the huge difference in run time, when is Quick Scan considered sufficient and when should you use Full Scan.

Thank you,

Hi PadRat,
I generally run a quick scan each night, when I'm sleeping. I then run a full scan once a week, again when sleeping, of if I encounter issues. Eg. Slow performance etc.
This is just a rule of thumb and may not be 100% effective, but I find it works for me.
Anyone else use a different system from mine?

For MBAM, a quick scan is normally what's recommended. For Antivirus, I usually run a full scan once a week.

Myself, I run MBAM's quick scan sporadically, but I have Avast scheduled to run a full boot-time scan of everything every Sunday at 2AM.
