i ran mcafee virus scan on my pc numerous times. Each time it showed that my pc have about 1,500 instance of potentially unwanted adaware files in C:/Windows. Deleted these files then ran mcafee again and the same files where found again. Why does this happen and how do i get rid of this problem?

Hello xomlssyox and welcome to BleepingComputer.

Nothing shows up in your HJT log. Let's try this:

Download and install the trial version of Ewido Security Suite.
When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
- Launch Ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
- When you run Ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!".
- The program will prompt you to update; click the OK button.
- The program will now go to the main screen.
- On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
- Click on Start.
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.

Run Ewido Security Suite:
- Click on scanner.
- Click on Complete System Scan.
- Let the program scan the machine.

When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a check in the lower left corner of the box that says "Perform action on all infections" then choose clean and click OK.

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report.
- Click Save report.
- Save the report to your desktop.

Please do an online virus scan at one or both of the following sites: (These will need to be run using Internet Explorer browser)
Panda ActiveScan <--Scan 'My Computer'.
TrendMicro Housecall <-- Select 'Complete Scan', then check 'My Computer'.

Allow these to remove or fix anything they can. Report anything that can not be removed or repaired.

Reboot normally and post back a new HJT log and the contents of the ewido.txt log file.

Is McAfee still finding all those files? If so can you give me an example of what McAfee is finding, and where it is finding the files?

I ran ewido a couple of times, but each time when the scan completed the program ended so I was not able to save a log file. Is there anyway to go back into the program and view the log file another way?

Currently, I am running the panda software and I will continue the steps you gave me and keep you posted of my progress.

Assuming Ewido completed and you clicked on "Save report", the default location that it saves its log to is:
C:\Program Files\ewido\security suite\Reports.
