I am working from my own computer so I can't use any of the suggested fixes. My friend's computer is XP Home (no cd drive) and gets to the XP screen then a box appears w/title lsass.exe operation failed. I highly doubt she used any virus software. I am unsure of how to proceed. There isn't anything on her computer that she wouldn't mind losing. Thanks for any help-even if it's to smash it to bits!
