I think I'm screwed.

Can't get Avast to turn on. Malwarebytes says all is fine, but it obviously isn't. Popups appear with Firefox browser. Spydoctor cleaned out two threats and 223 infections with no changes as far as browser hijacks.

Bleepingcomputer redirects to searchportal in Firefox or Chrome, I'm left with IE.

Help!

I reply to myself.

I did system restore. Nope. Ran full antimalwarebytes and spydoctor. Nope. Cleaned out everything with cccleaner.Took a big chance and ran HiJack this deleted one questionable Hijack This line thingie. Removed the dead Avast and installed Kaspersky and ran it.

I can get this site now on Firefox and Chrome, where I couldn't before, but the one url I changed the DNS still points to searchportal on my Firefox, but nothing else does. Chrome still hijacked to searchportal too. IE all right. Sigh.

Will Google for a better solution, I guess.
