NOD32 keeps on notifying me about Olmarik.AAZ trojan and that I have to reboot for the whatever actions it did to take place. I did it a couple of times since the notification kept popping up. It still shows up and now I just ignore it. Another problem is that once in a while, audio would play in the background - an ad for some product. At times, these ads would play at the same time and it gets really annoying. I checked the Task Manager what program is doing these and it turns out IE (iexplorer.exe) is running in the background. When I end the process the audio stops. And then it would come back up again. The only way I could stop these was to disconnect from the internet entirely.

I could not complete the GMER scan since it always stops at Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy1. It would stay there at hours on end. I'd stop the scan and redo it and it stops there again. So what I've done was save the log at that point. I'm not sure if the .txt will be useful but I still attached it. Also, after using the GMER, I cannot open anything or even properly shut down. It has given me the BSOD a couple of times as well.

Thanks for the help.

Hello and Welcome to the forums!

My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.

Somethings to remember while we are working together.

  2. Do not Attach logs unless I ask you to.
  3. Tell me about any problems that have occurred during the fix.
  4. Tell me of any other symptoms you may be having as these can help also.
  5. Do not run anything while running a fix.
  6. Do not run any other tool untill instructed to do so!
