Made the mistake of doing a Google search with IE, not FF. Started getting all kinds of IE redirects. Ran CCleaner to clean out temps and registry. Ran MWB in regular mode, removed Hiloti, Agent, and Downloader trojans, restarted, malware returned. Ran CC & MWB in safe mode, malware returned again. Followed drill on MWB. When running GMER, it BSOD on pglipow.sys: Page fault in non-paged area pgliapow.sys - Address 95C74DSD base at 95C69000. Nothing showed up in red on GMER before BSOD.

Your help is most appreciated.
HS

Edit: Was able to run systinternals rootkit revealer. Could not save results file so I created the attached screenshot rkr01.jpg

Hello

I Would like you to do the following.

Please print out or make a copy in notpad of any instructions given, as sometimes it is necessary to go offline and you will lose access to them.

Run Combofix:
    Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

    Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

    The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode.
    This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
    It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

    Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:
      The Recovery Console was successfully installed.
    Please continue as follows:
    • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
    • Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

    When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

    Please include the report in your next post:

    C:\ComboFix.txt

"information and logs"
    In your next post I need the following
    1. Log from Combofix
    2. let me know of any problems you may have had
    3. How is the computer doing now?

Gringo

Gringo,

Here's the log.txt from running ComboFix. I have replaced user ID text with ZZZ.

Only problem I've had with PC is when running DriveImage XML backup. About 12 minutes into the process, it hands with a ""Could not flush write buffer for "E:\CloneW\Drive_C.dat'. There is not enough space on the disk." error. Checked, I have plenty of room on my external hard drive for it to run. Then I get an error writing to compressed stream Can attach only one screenshot to a time. Will post another reply with second screenshot.

Greetings

Good That cleaned up some bad guys but I see some other stuff that we need to go after, so I want you to run this custom script for me.

you know that the ZZZ needs to br replaced

:Run CFScript:

Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the box into the window:

CODE
File::
c:\docume~1\ZZZ\LOCALS~1\Temp\CI.exe
c:\docume~1\ZZZ\LOCALS~1\Temp\RHBK.exe
c:\docume~1\ZZZ\LOCALS~1\Temp\XS.exe

Driver::
XS
RHBK
CI

Save it to your desktop as CFScript.txt

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe

This will let ComboFix run again.
Restart if you have to.
Save the produced logfile to your desktop.

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Run Batch File
    Open Notepad and copy/paste the entire contents of the codebox below, into Notepad:
CODE
@echo off
if exist peek.txt del /q peek.txt
regedit /a peek.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\control\session manager\appcertdlls"
notepad peek.txt
    Save this as peek.bat Choose to Save type as - All Files and where to save - Desktop - then close the Notepad file.
    It should look like this: <--XP
    Double-click on peek.bat to run it. A Notepad file will open. Copy/paste that information into your next reply, please. Please delete the file afterwards.

"information and logs"
    In your next post I need the following
    1. report from Combofix
    2. report from peek.bat
    3. let me know of any problems you may have had
    4. How is the computer doing now after running the script?

Gringo

When CF ran, did not put up report to be saved like last time. Had to do search for report below. Laptop-wise, only other issue I have is M$ Print Manager does not show printer list. Haven't had a chance to delete/reinstall. Other than that, every thing seems kopestetick. Here are the reports:

ComboFix.txt:
ComboFix 10-06-17.01 - ZZZ 06/23/2010 17:52:38.2.2 - x86
Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600.3.1252.1.1033.18.3046.2491 [GMT -4:00]
Running from: C:\Documents and Settings\ZZZ\Desktop\ComboFix.exe
Command switches used :: C:\Documents and Settings\ZZZ\Desktop\CFScript.txt

FILE ::
"c:\docume~1\ZZZ\LOCALS~1\Temp\CI.exe"
"c:\docume~1\ZZZ\LOCALS~1\Temp\RHBK.exe"
"c:\docume~1\ZZZ\LOCALS~1\Temp\XS.exe"
.

Peek.txt:

Greetings

when you ran the script before did you change ZZZ back to your user name?

:Run CFScript:

Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the box into the window:

CODE
Registry::
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\control\session manager\appcertdlls]

"information and logs"
    In your next post I need the following
    1. report from Combofix
    2. let me know of any problems you may have had
    3. How is the computer doing now after running the script?

Gringo
