hi,
i got a pragma infection

here are the 3 files that my bit defender found so far

PRAGMAc.ddl
pragmaserf.ddl
pragmabbr.ddl

the virus is found at c:\Windows\PRAGMAsiiteyxbvc\

the folder itself does not exist (not even hidden folders) but it keeps poping up that it blocked that file

it does not restore or heal or delete the file , it just block acces to it

the file keeps poping up at internet explorer (ieexplorer.exe) when i use google chrome and doesnt have ie running at all

before i used avast , but avast crash all the time (keeps freezing) so i installed bit defender to get rid of it , but seems to give the same problem (it cant get rid of it :s)

as i founded on google some more posts on this forum over that problem , so i was wondering if there is a solution for it to get rid of it with out destroying my computer ??

here are a quick stats of my computer
  • hd = 720 GB
  • cpu = Quad 9000 ( 2GHZ )
  • ram = 4GB
  • windows = win Vista and Win 7 (dual boot , goes over win vista as the 7 is on a other hd )
  • C drive = 287 GB (windows vista )
  • D drive = 298 GB (windows 7 )
  • Computer type = Laptop
  • Free space = 12 GB on C: and 5 GB on D:
  • last scan with bit defender tooks 4 - 6 hours to complete (same for avast)
it is not the only problem , as i got a lot of problems to with removing programs , for 1 of other reason the installers keeps giving me a debug warning (unable to execute XX in nfs or something like that )
but that can be that that is because of the virus/spyware :S

Thank you for your support and help
Greetings From PowerChaos

Hello to clean this one we need a deeper look. Please go here....
Preparation Guide ,do steps 6 - 9.

Create a DDS log and post it in the new topic explained in step 9,which is here Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs and not in this topic, thanks.
If Gmer won't run, skip it and move on.
Let me know if that went well.

You're welcome.
Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a Malware Removal Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the Malware Removal Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the Malware Removal Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the Malware Removal Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.
