Hello Nogie and welcome to BleepingComputer. Sorry for the delay, the board has been extrememly busy lately.

Looks like you have done well, the log appears clear of malware. Are you currently having any problems?

thanks for the post, ddeerrff.
that is good news that everything looks good. the main problem that is now is this. We get lots of "cannot find server" pages while surfing on the net. happens often. have pretty good security programs on there. I even changed the privacy settings from med-high to medium (thinking that there was too much restriction on that part)-
the only thing that fixes this is restarting the pc, and getting on again. Still, after a while, or even a day, the problem happens again. so, in short, it happens too frequently (i think for it to be normal)- any ideas??
thanks for the reply, i know that you get plenty busy helping all of us.

This may get out of my area of knowledge quickly, but..

What type of an internet connection do you have? Do you use a proxy server? Any particular sites this happens on?

It is a dial up connection (peoplepc)-honestly, I dont know anything about a proxy server and such. how can I check if a proxy server is used, etc (I know nothing about this kind of thing)
As far as which sites this happens on, it is random. ANY sites. and whenever it wants to. I can say it happens daily, & quite often. But, not always. SO, I dont know what else I should try, being that the log came back clean. thanks.

Let's see if it may be a DNS issue. I'm going to assume it happens to "www.cnn.com"

Next time it happens, and trying to go to http://www.cnn.com results in a "Cannot find server" error, try instead http://64.236.16.52 . Does that get you to www.cnn.com?
