Hey scotia,

Not that I know of. SP2 is a complete download not in sections. Go to the Microsoft site and request a SP2 cd. Microsoft was sending them out for free.

Hope this helps,

Rigel

You can ask around and see if anyone you know has a SP2 cd that they are done with. I have one and it says right on it:

Share this CD with a friend!
After you have installed Service Pack 2,
you can give this CD to a friend or family
member using Windows XP.

The option to order Service Pack 2 on CD is no longer available.

Try installing Windows XP Service Pack 2 this way:

1. Download the Network Installation from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en

If you do not have high speed access, get a friend to download it for you.

2. After downloading burn it to a CD.

3. Make sure system is as clean as possible before installing Service Pack.

4. Data should be safe, back-up important data just in case.

5. Make sure you have enough free drive space, Microsoft says SP2 needs about 1 gig to to the update, but if you are that close on hard drive space, now might be a good time to look into upgrading hard drive.

6. Check to make sure you have all updated drivers and that your hardware and software are supported by SP2.

7. Check with computer manufacturer to make sure there are no issues specific to your computer and Windows XP SP2.

8. Install from cd.

Another thought too is to ask around the computer stores there. See if you bring them a cd if they will burn a freebee for you. SP2 was meant to be shared. Also check the public libraries around you. Some of those may know a techy that has a cd.
