Hi all.

I'm looking for a free YouTube video clip downloader that can handle any type of file extension, and doesn't quit with a notice saying ...

I've tried a whole bunch of them, and always something's wrong.

Thank you.

I have used the DownloadHelper extension in Firefox to do this, however I am unsure about the "can handle any type of file extension" bit.

Thanks Budapest!

I already had that installed, but couldn't get it to download. I've checked it out again, and found out how to do it. Works very well.

Thanks again!

I love my "Realplayer". It seems to work on any video that you're allowed to download. Just pass the pointer over the video and a little tab pops up that says "Download to Realplayer".

I use Youtube Enhancer, a Greasemonkey script for Firefox. In addition to all it's other little tweaks, it puts a download button right on the page.

Thank you Andrew and Bezukhov, but Budapest's DownloadHelper has been working a treat.

No more notices telling me there's a problem.

If anyone is still looking, i use a Firefox addon called DownloadHelper. It works great with YouTube and all other video streaming sites.
