My results in yahoo and google are occasionally being redirected to foreign sites with a funny logo like a snake. I have tried several malware programs and they can't find anything. Google Chrome will not load a page. I was helping someone and when they connected to my network a virus program installed itself automatically and is how I got the virus. I have deactivated all addons and extensions as well as reset internet explorer. I have used hijack to remove activex objects and helper objects. I do not know where else this hijacker is being loaded, and would appreciate if anyone could tell me where these objects are loaded in the registry. I have also checked the hosts file.

I downloaded tdskiller and it has removed the spyware and Chrome will now work. Thanks. I had done this before your post however by looking at help topics on the chrome website, but I will post the tdskiller log anyway. I had tried combofix before tdskiller and it had noticed the RDPCDD.sys file was not the correct copy and copied over it but never got rid of the spyware. When tdskiller copied over the RDPCDD.sys file it corrected the spyware problem. I will attach the combofix log as well.

One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor Trojan\Rootkit.

If this computer is ever used for on-line banking, I suggest you do the following immediately:

1. Call all of your banks, credit card companies, financial institutions and inform them that you may be a victim of identity theft and to put a watch on your accounts or change all your account numbers.

2. From a clean computer, change ALL your on-line passwords for email, for banks, financial accounts, PayPal, eBay, on-line companies, any on-line forums or groups you belong to.

Do NOT change passwords or do any transactions while using the infected computer because the attacker will get the new passwords and transaction information.
