Hello

I recently damaged the AMD 64 x 2 dual core processor in the Motherboard M2N4-SLI
no one to blame but myself (bent a few pins)

feeling guilty I put it in for repair and was told they couldn't get a process that fits, so I got a new mother board with processor (ouch!)

I now have a perfectly good motherboard (M2N4-SLI) and would like to know if it's possible to buy a processor that will work in that motherboard? or is it now a hunk of metal for the skip?

and I also like to know how to work out what processor will work?

New motherboard is M4N78-SE with AMD Athlon II x2 240, 2.81Ghz (just for interest)

any help would be appriciated

Athlon 64 X2 / Athlon 64 FX / Athlon 64 / Sempron

I also like to know how to work out what processor will work?

Did a Google search for M2N4-SLI.
First result was this Newegg page.
Clicked on the Specifications tab.

The second link on the Google search is a download, for the PDF Manual for that motherboard.
It should also list, the acceptable processors.
