i can't run IE. i have to search for it and the only thing that comes up is IE with no add ons and when i click it the little blue circle pops up for a second but nothing happens. and the process isnt there when i run task manager. in the turn features on or off IE is turned on. i've tried the IE fix utility and i've reset all the setting for IE but none of it did anything. chrome and firefox run fine.

i'm running windows seven home premium x64.

any help would be great.

As you can't open IE, this may not be much use to you, but worth a look.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926449

This fix is from another site-Click Start, then Run and type CMD in the dialogue box that appears, and then click OK. Type netsh winsock reset into the DOS window that appears.

Good luck.

Hey friend , I have met such thing before and according to my friends' advice, the only thing to do is to reinstall the system. But I choose another way, change another browser, this works well. Now I have two web browsers, Chrome and firebox and both of them works much better than IE. try any of them.

Further to the previous replies, OPERA is my browser of choice but you can use FireFox with the IE TAB addon. That way you can use the IE engine when required for downloading from MicroSoft and use FF for normal browsing.

Let us know how you are getting on.
