When I turn on my computer, before the Windows screen comes on, I get a black screen and it reads:
Fatal error PCSystem has failed. Please have pc serviced to prevent further damage.
Press F2 to continue.
When I press F2, the computer does boot up. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me.
Any ideas what causes this?
I have the following:

HP Pavilion M7674N
Running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
Intel Core 2 CPU
3 GB Hard drive

Is that the exact wording of the error message?

I find nothing in Google that matches what you posted.

In any case, I would check the HP forums...in addition to seeking interpretations elsewhere.

Yes, that was the wording. Thanks, I'll check the HP website.
