Everytime I use Firefox and only firefox from what I'm noticing, my screen will flicker as if it's about to go out on my laptop.

This started approximately a month ago. I've downloaded the newer version of Firefox to see if this fixes the problem..

What could be causing this?

Thank you.

Well, since it only happens with Firefox, I would definitely recommend updating to the latest version (3.6.3 as of today).

Let me know whether or not that fixes it.

Well, it wasn't Firefox

After I posted this topic my computer started flickering without firefox running so I'm assuming it's a more complex issue. But one good thing, my firefox is now updated

I've contacted Asus and they told me to update my BIOS and update my graphics driver.

So far my driver is having trouble taking, it's saying that it has not updated but I'm going through the update process. So far after running the BIOS update, no more flicker, but if it happens again. I'l update my post. ASUS Customer Service is really tasking today. Just a forewarning for anyone having to deal with them too.

Thank you for your quick reply, and if anyone has any further ideas about my graphics card updating here are the details.

1gig, Nvidia GTX 260M CUDA.

I don't have a Nvidia GPU but I did find a Updated Driver link for you (http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook_drivers.html) According to that link it will automatically find the drivers for your gpu

Sounds to me like your video card is dying.
