start menu and windows "disappearing"

Recently I have noticed that I can not access my Start menu, and windows that I minimize do not appear on my open task menu bar. If I open up task manager I can see the windows and switch to them.

I have McAfee virus scan. It did not find any viruses. Any suggestions please?

do you have any spyware scanning programs? have you run them on your machine?

Thank you. I purchased registry mechanic and it fixed the problem (and many others). The issue was caused by sysfadr.
