Not me that's for sure. After 30 years in hi-tech I am back in the field fixing PC's and networks for home and small businesses in and around my town, a small New Jersey suburb of New York City. It's in the USA :flowers:

I have found that most issues today are created by a lack of, and in some cases because of antivirus software and or antispyware software.

In brief here is what I advocate.
1. You must have an up-to-date virus scanner subscription.
2. You need to have antiSpyware software installed ( I use Spybot and MS Antispywatre Beta) and you need to update and run Spybot on a regular (once a month at least) basis.
3. I DO NOT like the Norton Security packages and strongly advise people to change to McAfee. Norton is too intrusive and causes problems. My users end up disabling it. :trumpet:

4. You need to visit forums like this to keep yourself up-to-date with the latest repair techniques.

Thanks for hosting Bleeping Computer.

I also concur with you on Norton, but I don't have much love for MacAfee either. I went freeware over two years ago and have not looked back. I prefer AVG Free.

AVG Free Edition Antivirus(I personally use)
Avast Home Edition Antivirus Freeware
Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta
AdAware SE Personal Edition
Ewido Security Suite - 14 day trial

Implied in points 1 though 4 is an educated computer user, who consistently follows best security practices and exercises some care about sites browsed and files downloaded.
