Hi guys, there is a issue on my PC for some reason. Sometimes when I start Windows XP this happens:

It will just freeze on the loading bar and it will not boot. Then I have to manually restart and it will always work on the second try. However this happens occasionally. This does NOT happen every time.

However when I am on it, it NEVER freezes up or has any issues such as slowdowns. All the H/W works great too. I can't remember when I froze up or had slowdowns.

What do you think I should do?

Thanks

Hi Braxton -

Do you have a decent (even free) anti virus also download and run Malwarebytes to check for infections -

Also run check disk - Copy and paste this code into RunBox - Close all open programs , and click OK -
This will restart your system and run a full 5 stage check and repair - It may take 30mins to 1 hour depending on your system -
CMD /C ECHO Y|CHKDSK C: /R | SHUTDOWN /R /T 30
Thank You -

IMO, could indicate a damaged profile...not a lot to go on.

That error usually occurs when users have attempted to install an SP or reinstall Windows.

Well its been over a year since I installed SP3 and reinstalled Windows.

But it still happens randomly. However NO freezes or slowdowns in Windows!
