Well, I've been having some problems with my laptop. The laptop freezes on and off non-stop. Then after a while it eventually freezes forever until I have to force shutdown with power button. Also, I've noticed in Task manager that the CPU spikes everywhere and sometimes to 100%. I have no idea if this is a virus/malware/spyware/adware problem. Also, I've managed to go head and wiping data and reinstalling Windows 7. Please help.

Thanks,
Biology

So you reinstalled Windows to see if that would solve the freeze ups, and that did not solve the issue? Can you post some specs for your lap top, and when was the last time you did some house cleaning it on like removing dust from the air vents on the front, back, bottom, and sides of the lap top?

Can you download a tool called: Speccy, and post what you see here?

I clean it every month with the air can dust cleaner.

Couldn't even run this in normal mode so I ran in Safe mode and couldn't get much info. Well I'll keep trying to run Speccy in normal mode.

Do you get any error messages in Normal Mode while trying to run Speccy?

You wiped the drive completely then did a clean install of the OS? However, you still get this CPU Spike? What all do you run on your computer as far as security applications and what not?

Yes, at the moment I only have Malwarebytes. I already did a full scan and nothing came up. I also have CCleaner but haven't ran that yet.

Is this a new lap top? If so have you contacted the manufacturer? If not can you download: Process Explorer and run that, then post a screenshot of the offending process?

How do I take screenshots?

I would have to say this is a 3 year old laptop. Warranty is expired.

Are you talking about the System Idle Process? If so that is perfectly fine to be at 100%, all that means is that your computer is not doing anything.

Well for some reason when I notice my laptop freeing and unfreezing, the CPU is really high. But when the laptop is permanently frozen, I can't really see what the CPU is at.

Leave that process explorer running, and when you start to feel the 100% CPU usage kick in, take a screenshot of it then post it.

Is your system fully upgraded via Windows Updates? I see one issue pertains to Desktop Windows Manager which is basically Aero. This can be caused by system specs being less adequate for it to run properly. I would disable Aero: How do I disable Aero?

Then post if it stops this.

Yes it is fully updated. I changed to Windows Classic theme and it still froze.
