I'm a long-time IT professional in Dallas. I try to keep 5 PCs running for my wife and kids -- a mix of XP and Vista. We've got McAfee running on all the machines and I generally manage to keep the Windows security updates current.

Being teenagers, my kids are less than selective about the web sites they visit and lately they've both gotten nasty viruses. My son was able to find a workaround, but his browser is still crippled. I'm currently working on a browser redirect problem for my daughter, which is what brought me to Bleeping.

I've posted a general description of the problem down in the Am I Infected? forum. There's a lot of advice online, but I'd prefer not to take a scattershot approach, so I hope someone will get me pointed in the right direction.

I'm glad to be part of the forum, and I look forward to your replies.
