Hi I'm new to the site and so far the suggestions I've used has improved my computer. So, first a big thanks to all  I also have installed firefox and I have AVG, but I do not have the same security checks that I have with IE- it would place a check beside every website I googled, letting me know its safe to view the web page. I still have IE also, because of the companies I have to access. So, my question is, does AVG work with firefox? Or is it because I have two different web browsers?

Hi sar4tee, and  to BC.

If Mozilla Firefox was not present on the computer when you were installing AVG, certain parts connecting AVG Linkscanner and Firefox were not installed. To install them later, please follow these steps:

* Download the latest installation file of AVG:

http://download.avgfree.com/filedir/inst/a...90_819a2842.exe

*
When you are prompted, please do not open this file directly from the Internet, but click the "Save" button and choose a location, where the installation file should be stored (we recommend saving the file to the Desktop).
*
Reboot the computer.
*
Locate the downloaded AVG installation file (it has a four color square icon and its name starts with AVG_...) and launch it.
*
Follow the installation wizard, when asked about the installation mode, choose the Repair installation option.
*
Choose if you want to install also AVG security toolbar (this does not affect Linkscanner component).
*
Finish the installation.
*
Update AVG.

Firefox will now contain all parts needed to protect you against harmful webpages.

Source.

AVG is Ok, it has no incompatible problem with firefox or IE.

Thanks RedDawn, unfortunately, I'm just getting my computer back. I was told my harddrive needed changing and I did not backup anything. But I did what you suggested and Firefox is working with AVG..thanks again.
