Hello, lately I've been having certain problems, having a redirection problem to unrelated

sites whenever searching on Google or Yahoo. I. This happens on both IE and Firefox and I

suspect malware. I had these problems a week ago, but I used malwarebytes, Hitman Pro 3.5,

Spybot - Search & Destroy, mcfee, and windows defenter Microsoft Windows Malicious Software

Removal . However, even after its removal, the following problems persisted. Current scans

with malwarebytes reveal nothing, and I can't find any suspicious processes on my

system.but the redirection problems persited.

Hello.

I'm unable to open those attached compressed zipped files due to probably some error during the compressing part as the files can not be extracted properly.

Can you please just post them here.

Thanks.

Hello.

Seems you checked the Select All box for GMER. Don't worry about it, no need to run it again, I'll let you know once we need it again.

Let's begin with Combofix.

Download and Run ComboFix

Note to readers of this post other than the starter of this thread:
ComboFix is a VERY POWERFUL tool which should NOT BE USED without guidance of an expert.

Download Combofix from any of the links below, and save it to your desktop.
Link 1
Link 2

Please refer to this page for full instructions on how to run ComboFix.
  • Close/disable all anti-virus and anti-malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix. Refer to this page if you are not sure how.
  • Double click ComboFix.exe to start the program. Agree to the prompts.
  • When ComboFix is finished, a log report (C:\ComboFix.txt) will open. Post back with it.
Leave your computer alone while ComboFix is running.

ComboFix will restart your computer if malware is found; allow it to do so.

Note: Please Do NOT mouseclick combofix's window while its running because it may call it to stall.

Note: Please do not PM me asking for help, instead please post it in the correct forum requesting for help. Help requests via the PM system will be ignored.

If I'm helping you and I don't reply within 48 hours please feel free to send me a PM.

Hello.

We need to do a few things here.

First...

Double click DeFogger to run the tool.
  • The application window will appear
  • Click the Disable button to disable your CD Emulation drivers
  • Click Yes to continue
  • A 'Finished!' message will appear
  • Click OK
  • DeFogger will now ask to reboot the machine - click OK
IMPORTANT! If you receive an error message while running DeFogger, please post the log defogger_disable which will appear on your desktop.

Do not re-enable these drivers until otherwise instructed.

Run ComboFix with CFScript

We will run ComboFix again. This time, the instructions are slightly different.
  • Close any open browsers.
  • Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix. Refer to this page if you are unsure how.
  • Open notepad (Start>Run>"notepad") and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:
    CODE
    FCopy::
    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386\user32.dll | c:\windows\system32\user32.dll
    Registry::
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run-]
    "mcexecwin"=-
Save this as CFScript.txt, in the same location as ComboFix.exe. (This should be your desktop.)

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you at "C:\ComboFix.txt". Post back with that log.

Do not mouseclick ComboFix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall

Note: Please do not PM me asking for help, instead please post it in the correct forum requesting for help. Help requests via the PM system will be ignored.

If I'm helping you and I don't reply within 48 hours please feel free to send me a PM.

Yup, redirect gone since the driver was disinfected successfully. We now just have a few leftover things to handle.

Hello.

That's looking good.

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2
Java™ 6 Update 7

Uninstall those two versions of Java. Then, I think we can wrap up, looks good. smile.gif Good work.

Please follow/read the steps below to remove the tools we used and for some more information. smile.gif

Uninstall ComboFix

Remove Combofix now that we're done with it.
  • Please press the Windows Key and R on your keyboard. This will bring up the Run... command.
  • Now type in Combofix /Uninstall in the runbox and click OK. (Notice the space between the "x" and "/")
  • Please follow the prompts to uninstall Combofix.
  • You will then recieve a message saying Combofix was uninstalled successfully once it's done uninstalling itself.
This will uninstall Combofix and anything assoicated with it.

Download and Run OTC

We will now remove the tools we used during this fix using OTC.
  • Download OTC by OldTimer and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click icon to start the program. If you are using Vista, please right-click and choose run as administrator
  • Then Click the big button.
  • You will get a prompt saying "Being Cleanup Process". Please select Yes.
  • Restart your computer when prompted.

Congratulations! You now appear clean! specool.gif

Now that you are clean, please follow and read some of the prevention tips >over here<. Is your system a bit slow? If so, try some of the points and things suggested here.
