I don't seem to have any of those! As i understand it, the culprit files are different on each computer. I have downloaded everything listed, and am waiting with crossed fingers, toes, and eyes. Can someone please analyze my log and tell me which ones to kibosh?

Thanks,
Horus

I worked on a computer that had it. But, it had many other problems. So, I'm sure which tool really removed it. I used these tools in safe mode with networking and turned off the restore:

Ad-Aware SE
SpyBot
HJT
TrendMicro Online Scan
Norton Scan

I have to leave to go to work (GeeksOnCall.com), after I run my service calls I will look at your HJT Log.

Try these and we will go from there.

Later,
GeekChick

Thanks, will do. I misunderstood the first post, thinking that the ones shown were the ones to look for, not the examples. I ran HJT again and found a matching MSEvents and Winlogonnotify pair using the alias "awvvs.dll." I think that this is the one, and it shows up in Process Explorer 4 times. (2 one one, then two 1's.) I am pretty sure that that is the source. However, my father, whom owns the PC in question, is paranoid about letting his son "run rampant" on his computer in safe mode. I'll have to either convince him or do it on the sly- it may not bother him to be bombarded with popups on starting IE, but it bugs the crap out of me.... We'll See...
