Hi all,

I just downloaded windows "fix it" just to give it a try. But strangely after downloading it says that it cannot connect to the internet. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my connection, but it just keeps doing it..

I'm using vista home premium on a compaq presario laptop, and I'm connecting to the net via a wireless router.

Does anybody have any ideas what could be causing this or what I could try to narrow down the problem?

Thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated!

Try using a wired connection if you can.

hmmm I'll have to try that another day, but I seriously doubt that's the problem. I get a very good connection and can download any other file without problems. In fact, I've never had a problem with the connection until now...

The specific error message is "Unable to download troubleshooters, please check your Internet connection."

I've checked my firewall settings and that's not the problem. I've tried snoozing avira antivir and that didn't help either. Reboot didn't change the result.

I just went to the microsoft forums and it seems that it's an ongoing issue for others too, and they don't seem to know how to fix it themselves...

Oh well, thanks for your help on this. I'll try again on a wired connection but I doubt it will work..

well no, because I haven't even used fix it as such yet. And it's not causing any real problems with my pc, it's just fix it which can't connect to the net.. Oh, well..I'm not overly fussed about it, I'll wait for it to come out of beta phase and try again then....

Thanks again!

Aha, don't worry about it.
I gave it a shot, as well some time ago, and it didn't want to run on either of my two computers

can not access to the internet? may because the internet is very busy or you have settings for limitations.
