I am in the process of preparing my computer before using the malware removal forum.

I use Windows Xp Home Edition Version 5.1 with Service Pack 3
I am on step 7 and downloaded the DDS Tool.... but it saved as an AutoCad script filetype. Does that matter?
When I click on the file, the security warning appears, then when I click run, Notepad opens up and many pages of the following shows up:

"MZ @ !L!This program cannot be run in DOS mode.

So, what is this? and why doesn't the DDS Tool work? I'd lo make it to step 8.

Any help is welcome. Thanks!

Try the following:

Please download OTL from one of the following mirrors:
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the Posted Image icon on your desktop.
  • Click the "Scan All Users" checkbox.
  • Push the Posted Image button.
  • Two reports will open, copy and paste them in a reply here:
    • OTListIt.txt <-- Will be opened
    • Extra.txt <-- Will be minimized
Although it says to post the logs here...do not do that . Post them to the appropriate malware forum, please.

Thanks :flowers:.
Louis

Thanks. The scan went through fine with that program. Now, let's see who has the gumption to make sense of it.
