do they even make a single card upgrade for laptop ram? I am using a mini and it only has one ram slot instead of the usual two. I guess they probably don't make a 4gb card but if they do does anyone know where to find one?

If you are referring to the Dell mini, then 2GB (single stick) is the max. you can go.
