Hello BC,

I am helping a friend who knows nothing about PCs. It is a Vista32 OS and we use Norton 360 for protection. She uses Google search extensively for her research. Recently she has been getting redirects from her search results. I have ran a Norton safemode scan, anti-spyware and supersyware scans, removed fake search plug-ins and lastly uninstalled and reinstalled IE8. I tried running Malware but it stop running midway even when runned as admin. Google searches would behave itself for about 1/2 a day and the redirects would start happening again. A very futile and frustrating process.

I found this website from Norton Support forums.
http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Inte...ht/true#M112780

I did run a Combofix as per the Norton forums and have a log file. I remote into my friends PC usign logmein.

I appologize if I jumped ahead but my friend needs help and is becoming desparate to point of buying a new PC. We've spent days and wee hours into the morning working on this problem.

I thank you for reading and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

To all reading this: Please DO NOT run ComboFix unless instructed to do so by a malware removal expert.

@ mark0360

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at step 6.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to try to resolve them.

If you cannot produce any of the other logs, then please create the new topic anyway, include the information that you were unable to produce the other logs and why and include the ComboFix log you have along with a description of your computer issues.
