I know there's a million freezing issues and I'm sure someone's having the same problem. My computer is brand new. Win 7 x64 8gig ram ect.. When I leave the computer and the screen saver does its thing and the monitor goes into its power saver mode...after that you can move the mouse and the screen appears, but you can't click on icons or the taskbar. Sometime's it's only for a short period of time and sometimes longer or maybe even have to reboot.

Try using only a screensaver, OR only letting your power settings turn off the monitor. Don't use both.

Since I posted, I've turned off both and haven't had a problem. I'll try just a screensaver and see how it goes. Any idea what causes the freeze? I just figured it was one of the kinks that hasn't got worked out with Windows 7 yet. Doesn't make sense to me why using both of these would cause it to freeze up.

Well, sometimes using power saving features can carry problems. I have no issues, but others sometimes do. It's usually unexplainable.

Screen saver has been on several times and no trouble freezing upon return. Hope it stays that way. Thanks for the help!
