Windows Vista (Need basic start up)

So I am using my Uncles laptop while on vacation. I am trying to clean it up a bit for him too as per his asking. First thing I want to do is make his start up very basic. He has too many things loading up, looks like from default when he first bought it. I am not familiar with windows vista and currently I'm just changing the startup apps using msconfig. Is there a better way for me to set it up?

Download Autoruns for Windows: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb963902.aspx
No installation required.
Simply unzip Autoruns.zip file, and double click on autoruns.exe file to run the program.
Go File>Save, and save it as AutoRuns.txt file to know location.
You must select Text from drop-down menu as a file type:
