I'm looking at a pretty wide range, some of them nicer and some a little lower-end but with a lot of upgrade options...Prices vary a bit too, ideally 15-1600 ish, but they go anywhere from like 1300-2100. Here's some I'm looking at... I want a generally good performer, reliable and pleasurable to use, capable of playing games adequately but I don't plan to use it for hardcore gaming, etc. etc. Looking at 14-15" ish... Specific specs somewhat variable based on customization, but here's what I'm thinking for each (feel free to suggest changes to layout if available/you think it's a good idea).

1. Macbook Pro 15"
The most pricey option because it's a mac....
Intel i5 processor 2.4 ghz
4gig ddr3
500 gig hd @ 7200 rpm
geforce 330M (256mb)
mac osx (will get a windows version for it as well though)

2. Sony Vaio CW series
intel i5 2.53ghz, turboboost up to 3.06
500 gig @ 5400 rpm
4 gig ddr3
geforce gt 230M
windows 7
blu-ray player

3. Sony Vaio E series
intel i5, 2.4 ghz with turboboost up to 2.93
500 gig @ 7200
6 gig ddr3
ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470 GPU (512MB VRAM)
windows 7

4. Dell Studio 16 XPS
intel i7-720qm 1.6ghz /2.8 turbo
4 gig ddr3 1337
500 gig @ 7200
ATI Mobility RADEON® HD 4670 – 1GB
windows 7

And I just sorta looked at alienware for fun, but it's interesting so I'll include it. I was also less sure on a few things since there are a lot of options for it...

5. Alienware M15x
4gig ddr3
500gb sataII @ 7200
windows 7

not sure on processor... one of the following
Intel® Core™ i5-540M 2.53GHz (3.06Ghz Turbo Mode, 3M cache) [subtract $100.00]
Intel® Core™ i7-620M 2.66GHz (3.33Ghz Turbo Mode, 4M cache) [Included in Price]
Intel® Core™ i7-720QM Quad Core Processor 1.6GHz (2.8GHz Turbo Mode, 6MB Cache) Add $0.00

Vid card:
1GB ATI Radeon™ Mobility HD 5730 [Add $50.00]
1GB ATI Radeon™ Mobility HD 5850 [Add $150.00]
1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260M [Add $200.00]

Was looking at a coupe toshibas as well but they sorta fell off (a505 and something else, as well as the sony F series... too big and bulky though). I had a dell last and am not really thrilled about getting another but the one I have here looked pretty good so I included it. I've always "been a PC" but am considering switching to mac. *shrug* I see pro's and cons, but we'll see....

Suggestions? Insight?
