No internet connection

Had a virus pop up last night and was able to catch and delete with spybot. End result was I now don't have internet connection with desktop, but laptop works fine with same cable.

I think you need to repair RASPPPOE file. Try this
Insert Windows CD
Go to I386
right click on it and install.

Let me know if this works out for you.

Or you can try these for the connection....

Try this-- Open Control Panel, Internet Options, Connections tab, Lan settings, uncheck the box next to "use proxy...."
Go to Start ... Run and type in cmd
A dos Window will appear.
Type in the dos window: netsh winsock reset
Click on the enter key.

Reboot your system to complete the process.
