What flavor OS are you all running? Any firewalls involved? Is this in the same house or over the net?

Hope this helps thumbup.gif

I am starting to dislike Win7. Seems like its a pain in the butt when it comes to networking.

Can everyone ping everyone else by IP? computer name? Everyone in the same work group? And I seem to remember there is some security settings in Win7 that will mess with this sorta thing.

Hope this helps thumbup.gif

Got your computer Open Command prompt type "ipconfig" take note of the IP or IPv4 address. Go to your friends computer do the same thing take of the IP or IPv4 address.

Go to your computer on the command type "ping(space) IP or IPv4 address" of your friends computer

make sure you are connected on same network or gateway

Hi ezoone,

So you used to be able to connect just fine? Have you done anything on either computer recently right before you couldn't connect? Maybe added a new firewall or antivirus? Changed or added a user account? Anything that you can think of that you did right before you started having problems?

Can you connect from either of the computers to each other? In other words, can you connect one way but not the other? Did you have any success with the ping results?

I would also power cycle the router by unplugging the power for about 10 sec and then plugging it back in. Then try to connect.
