Wiped the laptop with DBAN, like I've done 1,000 other computers... And now it won't boot.

I've checked the BIOS and set it to the CD drive first. I receive the error, "No boot sector on hard disk." If I disable every device in the boot order OTHER than the CD drive, it tells me there are no bootable devices. I've been attempting this with an XP Pro disc that I've used before on other computers (legally: volume license).

Currently downloading a live linux distro in an attempt to see if the computer will catch that. Maybe I can write a boot sector onto the hard drive using that.

Any other suggestions, or have I bricked the laptop until I get a replacement hard drive?
