3FN Service Specialized in Hosting Spam-Spewing Botnets, Phishing Websites, Child Pornography, and Other Illegal, Malicious Web Content

One for the good guys today!
A notorious host and service provider that shielded its criminal customers from take down notices the security community served it is now officially seized and shut down. They've been ordered to turn over to the FTC over a million dollars they had gained through illicit activities. The FTC accused 3FN of deploying and operating botnets from their servers; along with a host of other criminal deeds including recruiting, hosting, and actively participating in the distribution of spam, spyware, child pornography, and other malicious and illegal content.

Thank you Galadriel for the good news. Just today at work I was talking about Botnets and they all looked at me like I was nuts. They don't understand that there computer can be taken over with out them knowing. I will take a copy of this report to work.
