You can uninstall Verizon Yahoo! Online Protection with the uninstaller provided.

Note: This will require a restart of your computer, so save your work in all applications and close them first.

To start the uninstaller follow these steps:

Click Start in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.

The start menu comes up.
Select these sucessive items Programs > Verizon Yahoo! for Broadband > Uninstall Verizon Yahoo! Applications.
This opens Verizon Yahoo! Applications, a checklist of the applications.
You can also start the uninstaller with these steps:

Click Start in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.

The start menu comes up.
Select these sucessive items:
(Settings)
Control Panel
Add/Remove Programs
Verizon Yahoo! Applications
Click Change/Remove.
This opens Verizon Yahoo! Applications, a checklist of the applications.
With Verizon Yahoo! Applications open, follow these steps to uninstall Verizon Yahoo! Online Protection.

Click the plus sign to the left of Verizon Yahoo! Online Protection.

This expands the list of its components so you can see what you're removing.

Click the small square box to the left of Verizon Yahoo! Online Protection. This puts a check in its box and the boxes of all its components.

Click Uninstall.

This opens a window, Uninstaller, asking you if you're sure you want to uninstall the selected applications.

Click Yes.

Uninstallation of Verizon Yahoo! Online Protection's components begins with Anti-Spy. Then there opens a window, Uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar, asking you if you are sure you want to uninstall it.

Click No.

Uninstallation moves on to other components. There opens a window, Uninstall Verizon Yahoo! Parental Controls, asking for an OK to uninstall the controls which will require a restart of your system.

Click OK.

Uninstallation of Verizon Yahoo! Parental Controls, Anti-Virus, and Verizon Yahoo! Online Protection takes place, and the list in Verizon Yahoo! Applications refreshes with the remaining applications. There opens a window, Restart Alert, asking if you want to restart your computer.
Save your work in other applications and close them if you haven't already.

Click Yes in Restart Alert.

The computer restarts with Verizon Yahoo! Online Protection removed from it.

All the best

Hi,

Go to C:\Program Files and locate the Verizon folder. Look for an uninstaller. If there is no uninstaller Try using the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. As long as you installed the application using the Windows Installer, this utility will remove all the folders, files, registry keys, and entries from your system and allow you to start over with a clean slate.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Locate and run msicuu2.exe to install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.
Locate and launch the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility on the Start menu.
From the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility window, locate the application in the list and click the Remove button.
Once the application has been removed, click the Exit button to close the utility.

MS Article (kb 290301) : Extract:

"When you are working on your computer and installing a new program, the installation suddenly fails.
Now you are left with a partly installed program. You try to install the program again, but you are unsuccessful.
Or, maybe you have problems trying to remove an old program because the installation files are corrupted.

You can use the utility to remove installation information for programs that were installed by using Windows Installer.
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer.
However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over."
