* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.
Reboot afterwards.

I want to know what next is...
so can you go to next site:
http://virusscan.jotti.org/

On top you'll find: File to upload and scan.
Now browse to the next file:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\office.exe

Click submit and let it scan.

Hi, I'm pretty sure that this office.exe is a bad one too and related with the msupdater.exe.

The current formatting of your log makes it difficult to read, so in notepad:
On top, click Format >uncheck Word Wrap

* Download Killbox.
Click killbox.exe.
Select the option "Delete on reboot".

Now copy the next bold:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\msupdater.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\msupdates.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\office.exe

Open 'file' in the killboxmenu on top and choose Paste from clipboard

Now you will see, this is pasted in the "Full Path of File to Delete"-field.
There's a little arrow (dropdown-arrow) next to that field.
If you expand it, these lines must be there together if the files are present!

Then press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it.
Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be deleted on next reboot.. Click YES
When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, click YES
If you don't get that message, reboot manually.
Click No at the Pending Operations prompt.

Your computer must reboot now.

After reboot, check and fix next entries in hijackthis again:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [msupdater] msupdater.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [msupdater] msupdater.exe

Reboot once again and post a new hijackthislog.

I see a clean log.

How are things running now?

To keep this clean in the future, I would suggest the following things:

Install Spywareblaster
SpywareBlaster doesn`t scan and clean for so-called spyware, but prevents it from being installed in the first place. It blocks the popular spyware ActiveX controls, and also prevents the installation of any of them via a webpage.

Avoid illegal sites, because that's where most malware is present.

Let your antispywarescanner(s) scan frequently and don't forget to update before.

And I do suggest you perform an online virusscan once in a while. (Housecall and/or Bitdefender). Because what one virusscanner can't find another one maybe can.
Also make sure that your virusscanner, the one that is installed on your system is always up to date!

Make sure your windows has the latest updates: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

If you are having XP SP2, read here how to configure Security Features for Internet Explorer:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...xp/iesecxp.mspx

More info on how to prevent malware you can also find here (By Tony Klein)

Hi, the msupdater must be a variant of this worm:

http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32rbotxr.html

which reminds me to perform next as well..

Open notepad and copy and paste next bold in it:
(don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4)

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa]
"restrictanonymous"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Ole]
"EnableDCOM"="Y"

Save this as fix.reg Choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.
This is how the regfix must look after you created it: Posted Image
Doubleclick on it and when it asks you if you want to merge the contents to the registry, click yes/ok.

Illegal sites are sites where you can retreive cracks, cracked software versions, pornsites, warez in general etc.. so stay away from them.
Don't assume your antivirus protects you from this so you can surf wherever you want, because this isn't true. Malware in general updates everyday, so a lot of scanners won't recognise it.
If you can stay away from those sites, don't open mails from persons you don't know or click links in mails you don't know, you must be ok.

Also look at my previous preventiontips, especially how to configure security settings in SP2

This restored some default settings and yes you may delete it, because you already merged it now.
