I have this weird problem on start up my desktop is frozen until I do ctrl, alt, delete then hit cancel then desktop will work I have reformatted thinking that would cure this problem. I have started the system with nothing running but avast anti virus and still the same problem I am running an HP Pavilian with vista home premium this is getting to be real annoying

If you did a clean install and the problem persists...I'd look at hardware as a possible problem.
