No matter how many google searches I do I cannot come to a conclusion for this problem.
I am trying to use Windows Update to download the Security Update for the 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB976321) update but it keeps failing, even if I visit the site and try to download it manually.

Here is more information:

Installation date: ‎5/‎18/‎2010 6:42 [bleep]!

Installation status: Failed

Error details: Code 646

Update type: Important

A security vulnerability exists in the 2007 Microsoft Office System that could allow arbitrary code to run when a maliciously modified file is opened. This update resolves that vulnerability.

Can anyone help?

Make sure you know if you have SP1 or SP2.

Good luck and if it still fails, let us know and we'll find a work around for you.

Not to be rude but I specified in the first post that it will not manually install.

1. Make sure you are logged in as the Administrator.

2. Disable your 'Firewall' and try running Windows Update again.

I am not finding you to be rude at all, you're just pointing something out, with a clairifcation that you have already tried this method and it failed to work.

I have found others who have had the same problem installing this particular update.

However I said make sure you know what Service pack you have installed because of this information here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976321
