I'm helping my father who appears to be sending SPAM.

Running Win 7, outlook 2007. Avira 10.

Problem: Myself and others have received a message that contains a link to Viagra etc. Blank subject. Definitely people from his address book. I looked at the message header it appears to be sending via his comcast smtp servers.

I checked his sent messages and see no trace of the message(s). I sent a test message and the headers seemed similar.

I've run a full scan with: Avira 10, Malwarebytes and superantispyware.

None of these find anything, though someone on contacts list received another message today.

I just don't know where else to look to help diganose.

Can you help? Do I need a hijack this log.

Thanks in advance. chris

Hello probably corupted your Hosts file. Instead of HJT we run DDS mow.
Please go here....
Preparation Guide ,do steps 6 - 9.

Create a DDS log and post it in the new topic explained in step 9,which is here Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs and not in this topic, thanks.
If Gmer won't run, skip it and move on.
Let me know if that went well.
